There's always a dark side to the little progress made around Detroit and the new Detroit Lighting Authority is no exception.
I drive down I-94, through Detroit, quite often. With literally zero lighting, the stretch through Detroit's east side is nothing short of dangerous. The new lighting authority finally receives financing to fix this and many other out-of-service lighting issues around the city, but you can't stop the copper thieves from having their say either. The lights along that stretch of I-94 have now officially been off longer than that they have been on within the last couple of years.
